Introduction to a Career in Dog Grooming

ONE DAY COURSE

Thinking about a career change and considering professional dog grooming? Before committing to a full training programme, this one-day introductory course gives you the opportunity to experience what a career in dog grooming really involves.

Combining both practical, hands-on experience and theory based learning, the day is designed to give you an honest and realistic insight into the physical, and financial aspects of becoming a professional dog groomer.

During the course, you’ll take part in the grooming process and learn more about what the job involves on a day-to-day basis. We’ll also look at the different professional training routes available, the costs involved in becoming qualified, equipment and set-up costs, and the practicalities of starting and running your own dog grooming business.

The aim is to help you understand the commitment involved both physically and financially, so that you can make an informed decision about whether dog grooming is the right career for you before investing in professional training.

Samantha can provide a suitable dog for the practical element of the day, or you’re very welcome to bring your own dog along.

For £175, you’ll receive one-to-one practical and theory tuition, a detailed course booklet to refer back to and a certificate of participation on completion.

Following the course, Samantha will also be available to offer guidance and support as you consider your next steps towards professional dog grooming training and setting up your future business.

DIY Dog Grooming Course

HALF DAY COURSE

Would you love to learn how to groom your own dog safely and confidently at home? This practical, hands-on Half-Day DIY Dog Grooming Course is designed specifically for dog owners who want to understand more about their dog’s coat and learn the techniques needed to keep them looking and feeling their best between professional grooms.

Working one-to-one with Samantha, you’ll be guided through the grooming process for your own dog and breed, including coat preparation, brushing and combing techniques, bathing and drying, using grooming equipment safely and basic trimming.

You’re very welcome to bring your own dog, allowing the course to be tailored specifically to their coat, temperament and grooming requirements. Alternatively, a suitable dog can be provided for you to work with.

The relaxed one-to-one format means you can learn at your own pace, ask plenty of questions and concentrate on the areas of grooming that are most useful to you. You will also be guided on what equipment to buy to use at home on your dog.

For £150, your half-day course includes personal one-to-one tuition with Samantha, use of all the necessary professional grooming equipment and refreshments throughout.

You’ll leave with practical skills, greater confidence and a much better understanding of how to care for and maintain your dog’s coat at home.

Social Media Marketing Workshop

HALF DAY COURSE

With a professional background in PR, marketing and copywriting, Samantha has spent the past six years teaching trainee dog groomers how to successfully promote their new businesses. Her practical half-day Social Media Marketing Workshop covers branding, choosing the right social media platforms, what to post and what to avoid, engaging with potential clients and attracting more business from your local area.

Although Samantha specialises in canine and equestrian businesses, the workshop is suitable for all types of small, locally based businesses. Each attendee will receive a comprehensive booklet covering everything discussed, along with a certificate of attendance. Samantha will also remain on hand to offer support and guidance as you put what you have learned into practice.

The half-day workshop costs £150.
